About the Event
Presented by Joe Stits, the Institute is a two-day workshop that provides information on law and practices of continuation schools, attendance accounting procedures, accountability standards, application of relevant education code and alternative curricular options are fully explored. The Institute provides the most comprehensive presentation of the law, regulations and leadership issues that pertain to the operation of the continuation high school. It offers intensive exploration of topics that are unique to these schools and is an excellent staff development opportunity for alternative education administrators or for those who seek to better understand the operational dimensions of continuation education.
The Institute specifically addresses the needs of continuation high school administrators as educational leaders. The design of the workshop is to strengthen the delivery of services to students by helping administrators to be strong, confident and expert in the exercise of their leadership responsibility. The workshop will help to assist these leaders to learn how to build capacity in their schools for the development of a quality program.
Each participant in the Institute will receive a copy of the Manual for the Principal’s Institute including The Attendance Accounting Manual for Continuation Schools and a copy of the annotated Handbook for Continuation Schools both of which are documents prepared by CCEA Plus and approved by the CDE.
