Conference Announcements
There is an exciting, new agenda for the 2024 conference this April!
1.
New Gala Date
The Model School Gala is usually held on Friday evening during the Conference weekend. For 2024, the Gala dinner will now be hosted on Saturday, April 27th. The President’s Reception starts at 6:30 p.m., with the Gala Awards Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. This Gala date update is confirmed, and will be reflected on the Conference page and all registrations.

New Gala Venue
We booked Universal Studios! The Gala will be in the Universal Studios theme park at the amazing Sound Stage 15, next to the other studios, lots and attractions. This Gala will be one to remember! At the dinner, our newly selected Model Schools will be honored and awarded in person.

Park Admission
Only paid attendees will get admission to the Universal Studios theme park attractions on Saturday. To see the Universal Studios property, our Gala location and the nearby attractions, take a look at the map below.

Transportation to the Venue
On Saturday, April 27th (the day of the Gala), there will be shuttles running between the Conference venue (the Marriott Burbank hotel) and the Main Gate at Universal Studios. These shuttles will start running guests to Universal Studios around 3pm on Saturday. The bus drop off at the Main Gate is a roughly 15 minute walk through the Universal Studios theme park to the Gala location “Sound Stage 15”. See the map above. Sound Stage 15 is located in the Lower Lot of the park. There are four escalators that take guests to the lower section of the park. There will be additional shuttles available for those that need extra mobility assistance from the Main Gate to Sound Stage 15. Otherwise, attendees should plan to walk through the theme park to the Gala dinner venue.

New Awards Lunch Date
The Professional Awards Lunch is usually held on Saturday afternoon during the Conference weekend. For 2024, the awards lunch will be hosted on the afternoon of Friday, April 26th (noon to 1:45 p.m.). The location of the lunch is at the Conference venue, the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel & Convention Center. Awardees from the 2023-2024 school year will be honored at the lunch in person. This date update is confirmed.

Tentative Conference Agenda
Thursday, April 25, 2024 –Attendees for the Model School Visits will depart from the Conference venue by bus at 8:30am. The trip will last until 4pm. Early registration for the Conference will be 5-7pm, where attendees can start to pick up badges. A meet and greet party (“Ignite Your Mind”) will be hosted from 6:30-9pm at the hotel.
Friday, April 26, 2024 — Check-in table reopens, with buffet breakfast 7-9am. Welcome, introductions and Keynote Speaker at 9:15am, followed by sessions and seminars. The Professional Awards Lunch will be hosted from 12-1:45pm, with exemplary program showcase, student awards, art, region basket, vendor raffles and auction prizes. Sessions, seminars and vendor features continue throughout the afternoon. From 8-9pm, Hospitality Suites (get to know your CCEA+ family).
Saturday, April 27, 2024 — Buffet breakfast 7:30 – 8:45am. Keynote Speaker #2 at 9am, followed by breakout sessions, seminars and vendor features. Shuttle transportation to the Model School Gala (Universal Studios) begins 3-4:30pm. President’s Reception at the Gala (Sound Stage 15) starts at 6:30pm, with the awards ceremony beginning at 7:30pm.
Sunday, April 28, 2024 — Buffet breakfast 8-9am. CCEA Plus’s advocate / lobbyist, 9-10am. Conference closing 10am.

Conference Credits
We’re happy to announce that you can now get college credit from Fresno State for attending the Conference weekend seminars and workshops. You can arrange for 1-3 credits by signing up during the Conference weekend in person. Our organizers will have sign up information for you at the Check-in table at the venue.
