This special award recognizes excellence in alternative education for independent programs. Eligible applicants include Public Charter Schools, Local District Programs, County Office of Education Programs. Designated schools are honored in person at the annual Conference, and publicly announced to peer schools as an exceptional model to replicate in the state of California.
This new recognition program launched in 2026 due to high demand for programs that support students and educators in this field, currently under-represented. CCEA+ looks forward to working with these important schools and programs!
How to Apply
To apply, eligible schools are asked to submit the following documents:
- Application
- Master Written Agreement
To additional requirements during the application process:
- CCEA+ School Membership — register here.
- Reimbursement of expenses for review and evaluation.
Note: WASC certification is no longer a required document.
