The Phoenix Award is a CCEA Plus scholarship created to recognize and celebrate graduating alternative education high school seniors who have demonstrated exceptional resilience, perseverance, and personal growth in overcoming life’s challenges to achieve their goals. This meaningful award symbolizes the strength and determination it takes to rise, rebuild, and succeed — just like the phoenix.

Scholarship Opportunity for Schools
This scholarship is available to all schools who host members during the annual conference. Each school will receive a $500 scholarship to award a graduating senior of their choice who meets The Phoenix Award criteria.
The Phoenix Award is available to any alternative education site (e.g. continuation, community day, independent study school, etc.) that is able to be a host school during the week of CCEA’s annual conference. Schools selected for The Phoenix Award will receive a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior of their choice who meets The Phoenix Award criteria.
School Participation Requirements:
- Host two 1.5 hour tours
- Be able to host two groups of 30 – 40 CCEA Plus members at your school site
- Provide a campus tour to showcase school culture and facilities for alternative ed students
- Highlight school programs, support services and student resources
- Facilitate a Q&A session for guest educators
- Submit a photo of the selected student who will receive The Phoenix Award (submitted by March 1st)
